CPCG August meeting minutes
The meeting began with news from the successful demo at the Ohio State
Fair. This year we were in the family arts building, not in the Fine
Arts building, so we had air conditioning and a good crowd. Thanks to
Pepper, Rosana, and Sue W. for attending.
The second garage clay play day at Beth's house was set for Sunday Sept.
21 from 9 to 4.
Lisa Hutton updated us on the upcoming show at High Road Gallery in
conjunction with the Worthington Art League. For this show, they're requested
our 3-D work although they will accept a few jewelry pieces. Setup is
2 – 4 on Sunday, Oct. 26 and takedown is Sunday, Nov. 23 from 2 – 4.
Gallery hours are W Th Fri 12 – 4 and Sat 11:30 – 4. there will be an
Artists' Reception on Nov. 2 from 2 to 4. The gallery terms are 10% of
sale price, and all items entered must be for sale. Lisa is coordinating
signups for demos and gallery attending during the show.
Update on possible venue change was tabled for the next meeting. CCAC
manager Jennifer Johnson visited our meeting to let us know that she's
going to ask the attorney's office across the alley if we might have
permission to park in their lot on the nights of our regular meeting.
If they agree, we'll probably have to sign some sort of waiver.
CCAC is having an open house and artist demos on Friday Nov. 14 from
5:30 – 9. They're looking for people to demo and for donations for the
silent and live auctions to be held as fundraisers for the Center. Volunteers
are needed.
The interguild swap items will be due at the October meeting.
Caroline reminded us that the library signouts will now be using a page
for each person, where she or he will sign out and return all items.
Michele said she expects new books to come out at the end of the year
and will update us when that happens.
Next month Mary will have Lynne Anne Swartzenberg class options for
voting – she'll be in Dayton in mid-October and we're looking at the
last weekend in April.
Class and show schedules will now be posted on the CPCG Web site. Please
send your info to Jeanette for posting. Debbie, Chriss, and Beth have
classes going on at CCAC, Gahanna Bead Shop, and One Stop Bead Shop respectively,
and Valerie will be showing her work Sept. 19-21 downtown for the “Waterfire” event
in front of COSI.
Meeting concluded with Debbie's Mold Madness.
